“Sometimes the hardest part of the journey is believing you’re worthy of the trip.”
― Glenn Beck, The Christmas Sweater
What’s it worth to you?
The feeling of worth and value is so important, it rules everything about you.
If you feel less than worthy you may not take action. Feeling less than or not as good as someone else can keep you from asking, producing, caring about yourself (and others) being happy and experiencing joy.
If you find yourself not too high on the self worth scale, you have company. In his book, Self Esteem, Joe Rubino states that 85% of the world’s population has low self esteem. If we use the latest estimation of 7.6 Billion people in the world, about 6.5 Billion people have low self -esteem. WOW, and we wonder why only 2% of the population has all the wealth?
How does this happen? Why are there literally BILLIONS of people walking around this earth not feeling or knowing that they rock? There are many reasons, some occur daily and are society’s messages that if only you HAD this or that item of product, you would be happy or skinny or more desirable. Some of us had hard childhoods and were told we were not good enough. The common denominator is what we are doing now, with our thoughts.
Knowing this about yourself is the first step. The second step is to do something about it. So what to do? Well, you could go to therapy and find out WHY you feel badly about yourself. This could take years though. Or, you could just DECIDE today to accept that you are God’s highest form of Creation. You were created for a purpose and you are pretty wonderful (even if you don’t know what the heck that purpose is supposed to be).
So today, I double dog DARE you. Take one small step to celebrate you. Ask yourself what would one thing you can do for yourself to make you happy. Then go do it! Often, when I ask myself its little things like taking a nap or getting myself flowers.
Even if YOU don’t believe you are wonderful, know that I do. I KNOW you rock. I KNOW you are AMAZING! So take that on this Monday morning and smile!
Cheering for you!
